The Social Clinic

Our mission is to provide high-quality therapeutic services to people in difficult life situations who cannot afford such services for financial reasons but are motivated to work on themselves, implement change, and take responsibility despite these challenges.
Our Story

The story of the Social Clinic began in 2014 as a project of the Czech Institute for Biosynthesis Psychotherapy . Barbora Janečková and Yvonna Lucká founded the Social Clinic in response to the challenging conditions of the Czech public healthcare system, where therapy covered by public health insurance has not been available to the extent that is needed. The number of people in need of therapy continues to exceed the capacity of therapists funded by health insurance.
Hence, the Social Clinic was created to offer short-term therapy and three online consultations, that are provided in a both timely and accessible manner. Admission to short-term therapy is preceded by a mapping interview, during which the client and the mapping therapist define the main topic of the therapy. The mapping therapist may alternatively recommend a different service, if found to be more appropriate.
